THE ROLE

As CHAPTR embarks on an exhilarating period of accelerated growth, we are in search of a seasoned professional to augment our team. In the role of Senior LLM Application Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-native, event-driven LLMapplications at the core of our user experiences. Being a compact and agile organization, CHAPTR places significant emphasis on individuals who can take initiative, extend their purview beyond their immediate responsibilities to align with the broader product vision, and contribute to the development of a self-organized team that excels in a streamlined and productive agile process. Beyond routine tasks, we actively encourage you to delve into the newest technologies - including technical previews from our partners - and explore their potential applications in creating innovative and transformative experiences for our customers.

Our current Tech-Stack: Google Cloud, Firebase, Python, Typescript, Terraform, Github, Cloud Firestore, EventArc, PubSub, GCIP, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions v2, React, BigQuery, Github Actions, commercial AI services, Open Source AI Models

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Collaboratively design event-driven cloud-native systems based on delightful UX designs.
    Implement technical designs across the stack with a high level of automated testing & monitoring.
  • Explore, design and implement complex LLM application features.
  • Effectively & efficiently plan and track work in our task tracking tool.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional team members to achieve our ambitious milestones.
  • Continuously improve the quality of our codebase and our agile processes.
  • Maintain our production environment.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Friendly, concise, audience-oriented communication in written and spoken form (English).
  • Pragmatic, result-oriented analytical problem solving skills that can overcome ambiguity.
  • Self-organised, purpose-driven individual that likes to collaborate with and enable their team.
  • Proven experience in owning features from technical design to implementation.
  • Proven experience in building lean, resilient, event-driven cloud systems.
  • Proven experience in Full-Stack Development - with some or ideally most of our tech stack.
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Proven experience in breaking down milestones into workable tasks
  • Proven experience leveraging & refining effective agile processes in a self-organised team
  • Proven experience in quickly adopting new technologies & frameworks
  • Proven experience refining requirements with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience building LLM applications e.g. using OpenAI, LangChain or similar
  • Experience with current GenAI tools e.g. ChatGPT, MidJourney, PaLM
  • Able to implement Clean Architecture & Onion Architecture principles

WHAT WE’D LOVE TO SEE

  • Experience with MLOps on Vertex AI (Pipelines, Workbench, Endpoints)
  • Experience implementing SRE methodologies
  • Advanced understanding of ML, LLMs and trends in the AI market
