Purpose of the role:

Support strategic initiatives with Op. Units, drive tech and data strategy and investments on a group-wide level

Key tasks:

● Contribute to developing a Group Portfolio Investment & Strategy with a 3-5 year view with a focus on the Content & Publishing Segment
● Support group-wide and business unit specific strategic initiatives, focusing on Digital, Data and Tech
● Help define a clear action plan for strategic initiatives, monitor implementation of action plan and detect deviations
● Navigate in an international set-up with colleagues in Europe, US and Asia

Skills / knowledge:

Hard Skills:
● Experience in data, tech and digital fields. Well versed in evolution of tech/digital advancements in the industry and ability to translate the impact of these trends to HPG’s businesses
● Robust methodological skills i.e. in strategy tools, workshopping, problem solving, business models analyses (USP, competitive positioning etc.)
● Financial skills to translate strategy into numbers/business plan understanding revenue models and margin mechanics
● Strong execution skills to drive implementation of action plans
● Anticipation and rapid uptake of emerging business-critical trends and technologies, such as Generative AI

Personal Skills:
● Highly analytical mind, able to challenge status quo
● Commercial/entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action
● Highly organised with good time management skills, able to adhere to deadlines and work effectively under pressure
● Strong written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate confidently and effectively in German and English
● Good listening skills to enable a collaborative relationship with business leadership
● Ability to work autonomously, with a proactive approach and drive for results

Experience:

● 3 to 5 years in digital strategy or business consulting
● Track record in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders with a focus on data, digital and tech-driven fields
● Preference for media industry expertise
● Experience in working with interdisciplinary and international teams
● Comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
